I stand by my words: the trailer for *Dhurandhar* is twice as good as the trailer for *Dhurandhar 2*. Aditi Dhar also created *Uri: The Surgical Strike*, which demonstrated the caliber of army-centric films he produces. He operates with a mindset that any other director would hesitate—perhaps even think ten times—before adopting. In the trailer for his film *Dhurandhar*, he casually included certain scenes meant for its sequel, *Part 2*. Everyone assumed these scenes would be featured in the full movie, only to discover later that they were completely absent from the final cut. When it was subsequently revealed that a second installment was on the way, we saw that those specific scenes actually belonged to *that* film. Our minds were blown; we wondered, "If we aren't going to see this scene in the actual movie, why show it to us in the trailer?" We were left pondering what kind of unconventional mindset this director was operating with. Typically, when a director creates a film, they try to keep every scene under wraps; when cutting a trailer, they usually strive *not* to reveal any of the movie's special or pivotal moments to the audience. Yet, this director went ahead and casually showcased scenes meant for his *second* film right there in the trailer for his *first* one.
Look, we have never seen any other director do something like this before. When we witnessed this director doing it, our minds were truly boggled. It even gave the impression that the director wasn't taking his own film seriously—a thought that likely crossed the minds of many others besides me. You would surely agree that no director should ever casually reveal scenes from the second installment of a film franchise in such a manner. They shouldn't have shown that, because whenever we watch the trailer for an extraordinary movie, we are left utterly astonished—simply because we have never seen anything like it before. After watching this, I felt that something unprecedented has happened in the film industry: a director shot both parts of a movie simultaneously. Then, at the time of the first part's release, they included certain scenes from the second part in the trailer—scenes that were *not* actually shown in the first movie itself. Viewed in this light, it becomes clear that a director can truly mess with the audience's minds—provided, of course, that they are a mastermind who knows exactly how to prepare the audience for the second installment while keeping them fully engaged after the first.
Speaking of the trailer for the second part—and I say this with complete honesty—when I went to watch the movie, I had a distinct feeling: after the director faced controversy following the release of the first trailer, it seemed doubtful that the film would ever succeed at the box office. However, judging by the way the songs and the new trailer have been presented, it doesn't look bad at all. While the songs might be a tad lackluster compared to those in the first part, the actual cinematic experience we are about to witness promises to be on a whole new level. The film will depict the journey of how Ram—an army officer—struggled to become a secret agent. Honestly, this movie has the potential to be truly explosive—provided, of course, that we get to see the same caliber of cinematography and acting performances that we saw in the first part.
However, I feel they might have made a huge mistake by killing off Akshaye Khanna in the very first part of the movie. But what’s done is done; it is precisely because of this "mistake" that we witnessed such massive hype building up for the second installment. Now, it is up to Arjun Rampal to conjure up some magic in this second part—something truly special—to ensure that it proves just as successful as its predecessor. Fair enough.
But say what you will, the trailer is actually quite impressive; now, it remains to be seen just how good the movie itself turns out to be.
